On the third day in the UK capital, Maria, Mike, Emily and me left the London flat for a breakfast outside, as we have seen a wonderful cafe and wanted to try the cakes and the pancakes there. It was fantastic and the children were quite excited, as Maria told them we should bring them to see the Wimbledon stadium and after that the Arsenal Stadium. These 2 sports amenities are quite big, so it took us the whole morning to reach them and make photos. In the early mid-day, right after we had a bite in a little, family-oriented eating place, we decided it’s time to do some purchasing.

We were fortunate to be in London during the sales and thus we succeeded to buy lots of things at a good price. We spend most of our time on Oxford Street, where we accessed the large store Selfridges, the Zara and Marks & Spencer retailer shops. From Nike store we bought a pair of trousers and sport footwear for Mike and a good sports dress for Emily.

We went back to the London vacation apartment to get rid of the luggage and sleep a little bit. Satisfied but exhausted the kids felt in bed immediately. When they got up we went to a great restaurant in the Kensington area in which we had been lodging. The spot was really beautifully arranged and the food was very yummy. I had a great, traditional English meal with draught beer, while Maria had a salad and a glass of white wine. The kids were impressed by the desserts.

Maria and I like dancing but with the children dance clubbing is not achievable, although we knew London had an excellent dancing scene. Therefore, we assured ourselves that we will come back, just the two of us to see that other part of the United kingdom capital, which we missed on this trip with the children.

The moment I got up the next morning, the children were still sleeping in their own place in the London flat we have rented, while Maria was up preparing their breakfast and making tea for the both of us. We enjoyed a quiet 30 minutes and discussed which places we are to go to in the course of the day. Later the little ones woke up and dressed, enjoyed their bite and were finally all set to go.

That day Maria made a decision that we ought to bring the children to observe some events, which could be seen only in London and that, as we were sure, would impress our children for a very long time. We left our London vacation apartment and used the subway to access the Buckingham Palace, where we saw the changing of the guards’ ceremony. Mike and Emily were completely astonished by the foot guards with their red and black uniforms and the specific tall black helmets. The service was not short, but the children were curious and watched it until the ending and after that didn’t wish to leave the Memorial of Queen Victoria, wherefrom we got the entire programme.

I went to purchase snacks and fish’n’chips for us all, while Maria took Emily and Mike and went to the nearby Green Park where we had a modest family picnic and the kids enjoyed sitting on the grass and socializing with other kids that approached them.

As the day was really warm, I suggested we need to move to the Hide Park and the Kensington Gardens, where is the Princess Diana Memorial and the recreation space next to it. This kids zone is good for kids up to 12 years old. Mike and Emily particularly liked the solid wood pirate vessel and were discussing it during the whole evening as we returned to our London holiday apartment.

As soon as my better half Melanie suggested that we should go on a vacation in London with the children, I discovered it strange, as London was not the greatest child-friendly place which I can think of. Apart from that I considered it might be too pricey. But I was drastically wrong.

The very first thing my wife did was to browse the internet and to find a decent London flat with very good setting and a fair price. The 2nd point was to discover affordable airplane tickets from one of the budget flight companies. When the time came, we took the children and the bags and headed towards the air port. And once in London, we got to our London vacation apartment where the kids were impressed by the space they will had to share and my spouse was thankful for the fully fixed kitchen where she was able to make breakfast every day for the entire household.

A couple of hours following our appearance, Maria, the kids and I were prepared to go sightseeing. I could say that there is often something arranged for the families with small children. The very first spots me and Maria considered nevertheless, were the well-known London Zoo and the London Aquarium. The children were really thrilled with the creatures they saw and continued talking about them as we ate sandwiches for lunch. In the late mid-day we reached our London flat worn out, but in good atmosphere and full of satisfying memories.

In the evening we stopped at a compact eating place, as we assured it is available for kids as well and that it has a good food selection for children. The restaurant was very close to our London holiday apartment, that was very practical as the children were tired and we needed to bring them back to our London apartment as soon as possible. Then Maria and I had some time for us, drinking wine in the lounge zone, watching the news.

On the following morning, right after an extended and excellent night’s sleep in the serviced Edinburgh getaway flat we have rented, we had a breakfast and decided to enjoy the New Town, that like we saw on the map was located to the north direction from the Old Town and was in fact bordering it.

Maria explained we have plenty to see in that part of the Scottish capital and I agreed upon. The initial monument to view was the Scott Monument, which was constructed and arranged for the memory of Sir Walter Scot. From there we enjoyed great views above the city and made some good pictures. The next place to visit was the National Gallery of Scotland where we were able to see the finest fine art collections in the country. There was no entrance charge whatsoever, which was good and the same was in force for the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, which on the other hand we could not go to since it was shut for building work until November 2011.

Maria was hungry, therefore we got fish and chips and had some rest at the Princes Street Gardens, that is a tiny but nicely arranged park located between the Princes Street and the Castle Hills.

In the afternoon we climbed the Calton Hill and after that we went shopping along the Princes Street, the George Street and the Broughton Street.

As that day was totally devoted on the New Town, in the evening hours we went out of our Edinburgh equipped apartment and we went to a pub we have spotted in the course of the day – The Living Room, where the food was excellent and the visitors could appreciate not just the beer and the cocktails but additionally the show of the bartenders. Then we headed towards the Standing Order Pub and finished the night there.

During the following day, Maria and I got up early and spent time drinking tea and contemplating the people from the terrace of our Edinburgh vacation dwelling. The moment we appeared to be dressed appropriately to go for a stroll, we headed immediately to the Royal Mile in the Old Town and so we visited the Edinburgh Castle and the Holyroodhouse Palace. Maria has warned me that I need to put on flat and cosy shoes and thus I was able to handle the stoned roads in the old town.

We’d a meal and a beverage in the Holyrood Park on the eastern area and then headed towards the Arthur’s Seat and then in the direction of the Cathedral St. Giles and the Scotch Whiskey Heritage Centre. Then we definitely required refreshment and Maria recommended we need to have a bite and some draught beer on one of the bars along the Royal Mile. After the snack we had, we went for some souvenir shopping. Then we both agreed, it would be better to return to our Edinburgh rental and have some sleep. I watched TV, whereas Maria checked her e-mail and made a research concerning the bars and dining places in the Scottish main city that were near our vacation apartment.

Later in the mid-day we went out again and had a very good long stroll alongside the Princes Street, that symbolizes the heart and in a way divides the Scottish capital into an Old and a New Town. On the Princes Street we found several nice department stores, and saw exactly where the Royal Scottish Academy and the National Gallery are and decided to visit them on one of the next days.

We had a quiet dinner at Rick’s bar, which is a stylish club in the center, serving food and beverages. We had deep fried pizza, which we discovered is a common local meal and then we went to bed earlier as we were very tired from the landmarks and purchasing during the day.

I came in the Scottish capital in the late afternoon previous Thursday for an extended weekend break and went straight away to my Edinburgh vacation residence. I intended to meet a friend, but her air travel was appointed for a later hour, thus I had time for a bath and some relaxation opposite the TV set. When my buddy finally came, she put her baggage in her room and we didn’t waste a moment but rushed outdoors to explore the city.

Before my vacation I tried to make a study about which might be the best pubs in Edinburgh, but was really lost. There were so many comments and so many testimonials by travellers, that I decided we’ll visit the bars near to our holiday apartment in Edinburgh and attempt to stick to our instincts. We made an appointment to the Last Drop Pub, since we were fascinated by its extended history, then we’d an ale at the Sandy Bell’s Pub where we listened to some folk songs.

After that we went to the Portobello area which was far from our serviced apartment in Edinburgh but was a fascinating area as we had been informed. We stood for around 30 minutes ay the Malt and Hops Pub where the beer collection was awesome, then we went to the Carriers Quarters where we were served the best beer for the night.

We were in a excellent mood and we met some new friends, who were eager to learn about our countries and home towns and we exchanged our emails to keep in contact one back at home. The time was flying and therefore Maria and me and we decided to go back to our Edinburgh lodging and get a good sleep, as we had quite a lengthy plan for the next few days.

I got up very early on the following morning here and I went down to a little bakery, a 2 minute walk apart from the Amsterdam apartment we have booked, to buy breakfast for my 2 girls. They were pleasantly surprised when they saw me coming with croissants and additional delicious things, still hot. We enjoyed a good family breakfast and looked at the map for the places that we have prepared to view.

These spots involved the Nemo destination, that is the largest technology center in the state and that happened to be in a location that was really easily obtainable from the Amsterdam vacation flat we were staying at. Then we joined the Maritime Museum too, as it is located simply close to Nemo.

The next stop was the Magere Brug, that is situated in the center of Amsterdam and goes back from the 1930’s and is painted in white. From then on we went to get a snack at a dining area nearby, that had a special menu for the kids.

Ellie was dreary and for that reason Anna and I took her to the Artis place, that is a large zoo in the downtown zone of Amsterdam. Aside from zoo, right here are also positioned a planetarium and a zoological museum, as well as a geological museum. I may well state, me and my wife were interested in the place too and had some pleasant time there.

That final evening in the capital of Netherlands was spend outside of our own Amsterdam holiday dwelling. The three of us visited the Rembrandt Square and after that to the Leidseplein Square. These two areas are the main amusement places in the town, where are concentrated a lot of dance clubs, cinemas and theatres, as well as a casino and the great thing is that all of these are easily obtainable by walking, therefore we all had great moment.

On the upcoming morning, our little girl Ellie woke us up, as she was keen and anxious and wished to go on sightseeing journey the moment doable. My spouse Anna was patient and thus she made Ellie eat her breakfast before going, whilst we were drinking our first cup of tea in the Amsterdam flat where we have been residing. We decided to devote that day to the galleries in Amsterdam, but we all agreed that the three key galleries in the capital of the Netherlands is going to be enough.

The very first museum to visit and the one nearest to the Amsterdam holiday residence, was the Van Gogh Museum. I am an absolute admirer of this well-known painter and was really happy to see the largest selection of prints from Van Gogh. The following site we saw was the House of Anne Frank, that features numerous historic artefacts telling the story of a little lady that made a large effect on the planet. The third stop that day was at the national museum of the country Rijkmuseum. We were able to have lunch at the gardens close to that art gallery, which are very pleasurable and lovely.

On our way back to the Amsterdam holiday residence we have hired, we broke into several souvenir stores and several big department shops. Anna particularly loved one of the open-air marketplaces we passed by and purchased some presents.

Right after a brief nap in our Amsterdam holiday apartment, we were ready to go out again and Anna suggested we spend a peaceful evening, sitting at the large terrace of one of the local cafes. There was a children playground area, so Ellie was occupied too, as we were eating and enjoying a cold glass of ale and some home-produced wine.

I’ve been to holland main city many times, however it was usually on business and even though I knew the zones, I was not quite aware of just how charming and impressive that city is if you are with your family and loved ones. Thus, for our 5th anniversary, I decided to take my wife and our little princess on a extended weekend break in Amsterdam.

I organized the plane seats and booked a holiday Amsterdam flat from a web site which I discovered easy to use and simple to book. The serviced Amsterdam holiday apartment that I picked was really carefully chosen, as I wanted Anna and our daughter Ellie to be close to the key landmarks and still to be capable to return to the flat quickly if they require to.

When we came in the main city of Netherlands, we were all happy, as this was our very first true family trip, because until now Ellie was too little to take a trip with us. Therefore, we settled in our Amsterdam apartment, left our baggage and were eager to go out again.

The very first thing we did that day was to take a canal sail, as the canals in Amsterdam are symbol of the city that make its romantic attractiveness, revealing magnificent breathtaking views. There are lots of canal cruises available in Amsterdam, but we decided to take a larger vessel, where we also had the chance to dine.

That afternoon we spend in the old town and the main zone of the city, which are close to our Amsterdam apartment. The centre is small and is enjoyable to explore when walking. It offers great architecture which is a fest for the eye, several bridges and significant amounts of cafes, elegant restaurants and small parks.
